City of Inman Commercial Facade Improvement Program

Get up to 50% match of your project costs

How It Works

The appearance of every town is largely determined by the condition of its buildings. Because this appearance also forms the basis of the public's overall impression, the upgrade and preservation of its buildings is crucial to the continued prosperity of our downtown. The City of Inman, Main Street Inman, and the Inman Planning Commission would like to encourage all commercial property owners to apply for the Commercial Facade Improvement Program when they are ready to improve the exterior of their building.

The purpose of the Main Street Grant is to encourage investment in the City's Central Business District, with the goal of revitalizing downtown.

  • Provide an attractive and comfortable place to shop, work and socialize.

  • Preserve the unique, historical character of downtown.

  • Attract new business.

  • Encourage repairs and improvement using quality materials in the renovation.

Funding

The program provides for a one-time reimbursement. The minimum amount of funding available is $500 and the maximum amount of funding available is $10,000. The amount allocated annually by the City Council to this program is limited. For that reason, once all funds have been expended in a fiscal year, no additional applications will be accepted that year.

A match of 50% of the project costs is required from the applicant. For example: An applicant applies for assistance with a facade improvement project estimated to cost $1,000. The applicant's 50% match in this case would be $500, and the City's reimbursement to the applicant would be $500, for a total project cost of $1,000.
