Main Street Inman Awards
Main Street Inman is proud to be recognized for the people, projects, and partnerships that are helping shape downtown Inman. In 2024, Main Street Inman received three honors through the Municipal Association of South Carolina and Main Street South Carolina's Main Street Awards program. These awards reflect the heart of our downtown, from community service and historic reinvestment to long-standing business leadership
2024 Excellence on Main Street Award
Mayor's Youth Council, Chapman High School
Main Street Inman was recognized for the impact of the Mayor’s Youth Council, a program that has helped connect local students to their community through service, civic engagement, and downtown involvement. Youth Council members volunteer at community events, participate in cleanup efforts, attend City Council meetings, and contribute meaningful service hours that support Inman’s Main Street efforts.

2024 Gaines Jontz Rehabilitation Award
3, 5 and 7 Mill Street
This award recognized the revitalization of 3, 5, and 7 Mill Street, where long-vacant downtown storefronts were restored through a multi-year investment led by owner Amanda Blackwell and her family. Their work helped bring new life to these buildings, creating vibrant spaces for businesses and mixed-use development while contributing to downtown Inman’s continued growth
2024 Master Merchant Award
Marianne McElveen, Kempson Rexall Drugs
Main Street Inman was also honored through the Master Merchant award recognizing Marianne McElveen of Kempson Rexall Drugs. A downtown fixture since 1905, Kempson Rexall Drugs has remained an important part of Inman’s business district.
